WHAT IS SKIN LIFT (NEAR INFRARED) TREATMENT?
Harnessing the power of near-infrared light technology (NIR), Skin Lift is a transformative skin-tightening treatment that penetrates tissue and stimulates collagen production, essential building blocks for youthful-looking skin.
HOW DOES SKIN LIFT WORK?
Skin Lift stimulates natural fibers in skin tissue, using advanced near-infrared light technology. This activates new collagen production, resulting in immediately tighter skin. Following our recommended treatment schedule of 6 to 8 treatments, collagen will continue to re-produce for long-lasting results.
KEY BENEFITS OF SKIN LIFT
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
You can expect visible results immediately after the first treatment. For more dramatic and long-lasting improvements, we recommend a series of 8 sessions at 2- to 4-week intervals. After the eighth treatment, collagen formation will continue to reproduce for up to 6 months with results lasting up to 2 years.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?
Skin Lift can be performed on almost any part of the body, including the face, neck, upper arms, abdomen and thighs. You will see an immediate result after the first session, with more dramatic improvements following the recommended treatment schedule.
IS THE TREATMENT SAFE?
Near infrared (NIR) light is completely safe. Essentially, the technology heats skin tissue to about 40-44°C, which jump-starts collagen production. Due to the heat, you will feel a warm sensation, much like a hot stone massage. Most people find it completely painless, though skin may appear slightly flushed after the treatment. Any residual redness should subside within 24 hours. You can apply makeup immediately after the treatment and resume normal exercise routines the following day.
HOW DOES IT DELAY SKIN AGING?
Near Infrared light activates the skin’s most powerful building blocks, such as fibroblasts and mitochondria. Akin to your skin’s digestive system, these crucial substances are responsible for cellular metabolism. They digest nutrients, keep cells full of energy, protect against UV rays, absorb antioxidants and create collagen – the most effective barrier against aging skin.
WHAT ARE THE HEALTH CONDITIONS I NEED TO DISCLOSE BEFORE I START TREATMENT?
Skin Lift treatments are not recommended if you have any of the following medical conditions:
– Cancer; particularly skin cancer
– Pregnancy (including IVF)
– Use of photosensitive medication and herbs for which near-infrared light exposure is contra- indicated
– Prolonged exposure to sun or artificial tanning during the 3 to 4 weeks before or after treatment
– Active infection of herpes simplex in the treatment area
– History of keloid scarring
– Diabetes (insulin dependent)
– Fragile and dry skin (e.g. eczema, or sensitive skin that reacts)
– Open wounds, skin injuries or recent inflammation or burns.
– Hemorrhage or patient receiving anticoagulation treatment
– Acute inflammation
– Hormonal disorders (that are stimulated under intense light)
– History of coagulopathies (thrombophlebitis)
– Use of anticoagulants
WHAT IS THE POST TREATMENT CARE?
Since Skin Lift is a completely non-surgical treatment, you can resume most activities immediately after the treatment. Take care to prevent trauma to the treated area for the 24-48 hours following each session.
For the next 24-48 hours, we recommend avoiding:
-Scrubbing or rubbing of the treated area
For the month following treatments, we also recommend that clients avoid sun exposure and protect the treated area with SPF30 sunscreen (minimum). This includes any heat or UV treatments, such as sun beds and saunas. Tanning after Skin Lift treatments may cause melanin regeneration, which could result in hyperpigmentation.
Other Skincare Recommendations:
-If the treatment area is exposed to dirt, cover it in a dressing for 10 days.
-Apply SCO Face or Body Screen daily to protect your skin.
-Apply SCO Ace cream to brighten your skin, twice a day for at least 2 weeks.
-Apply Ice Cream to calm, protect and moisturize skin, twice a day for at least 1 week.
